Why? To celebrate and enjoy the imagination!
The Online Juried Art Gallery, House of Scratch, is bringing together the “Best of the Best” for its first physical group show in Toronto, transforming its usual virtual exhibitions into a reality celebrating surrealism, imagination and visionary artwork working inside of but not limited to the genres of sci-fi, horror, psychedelic, esoteric, outsider, lowbrow or fantastic art practices.
Through painting, illustration and sculpture, the exhibition captures the sometimes light and whimsical nature of imagination which can often spiral into the dark and twisted, then erupt into unusual vistas and visions.
The best of the artists honored in House of Scratch’s online exhibitions for the past year are featured in MIND FIELD 2009: Mayuko Fujino, Callie Badorrek, Justin Jenkins, Miles Davis, Jason Spencer, William Butler, C. Matthew Hamby, as well as the creators of House of Scratch, Sean Chappell and Cathrene Gehue. Artists hail from Canada, United States and Japan, and some of them will be meeting and greeting at the Launch Party.
So if you’re into imagination, walk on down to Hang Man Gallery and watch where you step at MIND FIELD 2009.
